Hilariante.

The man was trying to make a run for it after an attempted house robbery in Enskede, southern Stockholm, early on Tuesday morning.

However, while trying to squeeze through a gap in a nearby fence, the rotund robber got stuck so tightly in the gap that he couldn’t get free, wrote the Expressen newspaper.

The Söderort police, upon receiving the emergency call from the homeowner who had made the unusual discovery, couldn’t believe their luck. They pried the man loose and arrested him.

Realizing the humour in the situation, the police team posted the picture of the big-boned burglar on their official Twitter site.

“After a break in attempt in Enskede during the night, the offender tried to creep though a fence. Got stuck and couldn’t come loose,” they wrote, later adding that the man did not sustain any injuries.

The Twitter account is run by Peter Nylind of the Stockholm police, and boasts some 4,500 followers, some of whom took the chance to comment on the unlikely situation.

“It’s like something from a bad comedy – fantastic,” wrote one follower.
